Pulmonary Ligament - definition
It is a vertical, supporting pleural fold that extends from the hilus to the bottom area of the lungs.
PULMONARY LIGAMENT - location
It droops down from the hilum of the lungs. It extends between the inferior position of the mediastinal region of the lungs and the pericardium.
PULMONARY LIGAMENT - function
It provides a dead space to the pulmonary veins so that they can easily expand when there is increase in the volume of blood coming back from the lungs.
