As the name indicates, it is located in the ocular region and is situated in the two grooves below the temple.
Eyeball - Anatomy and Appearance
It is almost spherical in shape, although not exactly so. This is mainly due to the fact that its corneal, anterior or clear segment is more curved than the remaining areas of the eye. The anterior pole of this globular structure corresponds to the middle region of the front of the cornea. Its posterior pole corresponds to the middle of the posterior curvature.
An imaginary straight line that joins the two poles is known as the axis of the eyeball. Eyeball - Function
