Deep transverse metatarsal ligament - Definition
It is a section of the transverse metatarsal ligament. It belongs to the joints of the lower limb regions, such as the foot and the ankle. It is a series of four short ligamentous bands passing between the distal ends of adjacent metatarsal bones and transversing the plantar ligaments of the metatarsophalangeal joint.

This ligament section is responsible for stabilizing the metatarsal bones, or the foot bones lying between the toes and the ankle.
