Coronary sulcus - DefinitionIt is a furrow (groove) on the external cardiac surface that acts as the point of division between the atria and the ventricles.

Coronary sulcus - LocationThis structure is positioned between the ventricle and the atrium in the left cardiac area.
Coronary sulcus - FunctionThis important furrow is the seat of the “nutrient vessels of the heart,” a name given to the trunks of the blood vessels. It is also comprised of arteries and veins that supply blood to and receive from the cardiac muscles.
