Ala of Nose - Definition
It refers to the wing-shaped structures that make up the walls of the nostrils. It is the lateral surface of the external nose that is also referred to by the name "Wing of the nose" or "Nasal ala."

It is comprised of the thin flexible alar cartilage and the neighboring integument. It is innervated by the maxillary division of the trigeminal nerve and elevated by the levator labii superioris alaeque nasi muscle.
